Teams of the Decades

On July 15th, 2023, in celebration of our 70th anniversary, and for the first time, MUBC awarded 'Teams of the Decades' going back to our clubs inception in 1953. The intention for these awards is that a committee of recently awarded life members, in consultation with prominent recent club members and players, convene at the conclusion of every decade to retrospectively assign and award a 'Team of the Decade' for the elapsed decade just passed. 

Men's and Women's "Team of the Decade" representatives have been evaluated and deemed to be a collection of the top on court performers for MUBC in each given decade. The "Club Member's team" is made up of those deemed most integral to the administration and operation of MUBC.

Note: Unlike our Scott Cuffe Award for Elite Playing Excellence (which takes into account tenure at the club), the criteria for men's and women's "Team of the Decade" representation is primarily on court capability as opposed to tenure or on court success. For example, Andrew Parkinson only played in perhaps two Australian University Games campaigns for MUBC over the course of two total weeks, however his on court prowess resulted in his inclusion in the 1980's men's "Team of the Decade".
