Play Basketball at MUBC!
What is domestic basketball?
"Domestic" is the term we use at the Melbourne University Basketball Club (MUBC) to describe our non-representative basketball programs.
At MUBC, we operate a large domestic program that caters to all skill levels, from beginners trying basketball for the first time, to experienced and high-level players. This is the program that the majority of our members participate in.
How to join?
To become a member, all you need to do is sign up online. The annual fee is set at $80 for students and $155 for non-students. For "summer signups" after August 1st, that fee is reduced to $50 for students and $90 for non-students.
Why join MUBC?
Among many other great perks, membership to our domestic program includes:
- Access to our optional Saturday morning training sessions, where members are coached through various basketball drills and scrimmages.
- Eligibility to join an MUBC domestic team and compete in senior domestic basketball.
- Eligibility to participate with MUBC various other basketball programs, including tournament play and 3x3 competitions.
- Invitation to MUBC social events, including our presentation evening, trivia night, season launches and more.
- Discount entry to our Big V home game events.
*Note: participation in team-based basketball leagues often comes at an additional cost, described further on our FAQ page.
Still unsure?
If you are still unsure as to whether you wish to join our wonderful club, we encourage you to 'come & try' one or two of our Saturday morning training sessions free of charge! These sessions are located upstairs at the Melbourne Uni Sports Centre on Saturday mornings. The schedule, while subject to change, is generally:

Advanced: 10am - 11:30am
Domestic Women
All grades: 11:30am - 1:00pm
Please note that after trying training for a few weeks, in order to continue participating, the purchase of a non-refundable membership is required on our website.
